First Trip to Mudgee after the exchange of contracts

23rd July

Tomorrow, Mark and I are going to Mudgee for the day to meet a couple of draughtsmen, the heritage assessor, and the town planner at the Mid-west council. We would like to secure a builder as quickly as possible so when we are ready with approved plans, we can get stuck in immediately.

We have access to the property to measure up rooms, windows, doorways, doors, and fireplace dimensions. We are very excited to see what challenges we have ahead and the potential to turn this very dilapidated house into a beautiful home retaining its original characteristic but internally creating a 21st century home.   At present the house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, but with an addition to the rear of the house we can create a 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms home with open plan kitchen living and dinning which will over look the garden with a North facing orientation.

I have created a list of things to do tomorrow so that we don’t forget anything. This is very important because we can’t just pop over to remeasure anything at the house.

The trip will take approx 3 hours so it will be an early start to get the children ready for school and depart by 7am. The girls are quite excited about the prospect of having to be responsible for getting home, doing homework and having dinner which we have prepare tonight.

So it’s to bed early tonight so we can get going in the morning. Very excited!
